Villathi Villan Sathyaraj is an Indian actor who has done over 900 movies in over 100 languages. He is the only actor in the world to reach 1000 விளை (Villai) (a colloquial measurement unit of length that approximates a typical human step), and 1,500 Mukkoli. He has won a record twelve National Awards for his acting and a record five state awards for Tamil cinema. This biography of VVS was written by Karthik Kumar Eeharappan, India's 1st National Award winning author/ journalist who wrote 'I prepared my debut novel based on this Wikipedia page'. In the book, I have rewritten this biography of VVS to make it one of the most interesting reads in India. He is from a family where both the father and the mother are actors. He was born to an acting couple Subbiah and Sujatha on 27 September 1959 in Nanjikottai, Thoothukudi District. He has two sisters, Meenakshi and Suhasini. His father Subbiah is also an award-winning actor who acted in more than 200 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam & Hindi. His mother Sujatha acted in more than 500 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and few in Malayalam and Hindi. He completed his schooling at கந்தப்பூ (Kanthappu), கோ. ச வ ல ெ (Ko Ci Va Lel) and obtained a bachelor's degree at the Government college of Bharathidasan University (Bharathiyar University). He has also done a course for advertising and publicity from the Madras Film Makers' Association. Manimaran started his career as a part-time art director at the T.M.Krishna Studios, Chennai. Later he worked as an artiste at Sree Kanteerava Studios and was later appointed as a part-time art director at the studio. He also worked as an assistant art director under Raghunath Kottarathil Sank Pillai and Chemban Vinod Jose at the Panchakanya Studios. Post-production jobs he has done include "Muthu", "Pudhupettai" and "Bhimayam". He made his acting debut in 1984 under the direction of Balu Mahendra in "Vallinaattam". He acted in a number of other supporting roles before making a breakthrough as a leading actor with the 1986 film "Yavanika". His first lead role was in the 1986 film "Yavanika" opposite Jayaram. It was an above average hit and Tamil cinema's first fantasy film. VVS has mostly acted in villainous roles till date. He made his debut as hero in 1992, with the hit Telugu movie, "Agnisakshi" opposite Krishna, which won him the National Film Award for Best Actor.
